Foodbanks

On October 1, 2025, the government shutdown due to congress failing to reach an agreement on funding.
As a result of this shutdown, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) (food stamps) benefits were frozen starting on November 1, 2025. People and families in need of this assistance did not receive, or only partially received, these benefits due to lack of federal funding. Additionally, most federal workers did not receive pay. Foodbanks are becoming overwhelmed with the increase in people in need of food assistance. While SNAP will be restored, there may be delay in distribution. Consider donating to support the foodbanks, and ultimately, the community, during this time.
